Now Playing - Spinners (Vinyl)

The Spinners / Part of Rhino's "Now Playing" Series! - Filed under "S," The Spinners can indeed be described with many "S" words - sweet, sophisticated, symphonic, soulful among them. Formed in 1959 in Detroit, the quintet spent a decade as second-stringers at Motown before finding their chart-topping groove in Philadelphia, with falsetto-rich lead singer Philippe Wynne. These ten original recordings, under the guiding hand of maestro producer Thom Bell, explore the full spectrum of love, from the mighty to the melancholy.
