Phoenix Rising - Destroyer 666 (Vinyl)

With their debut Unchain the Wolves (1997), Australian warmongers Destroyer 666 quickly gained international acclaim. The band followed it up with the even stronger Phoenix Rising (2000), a devastating yet dynamic slab which saw the group relocate to Europe in order to satisfy the soaring demand for touring and festival shows. Terrorizer proclaimed that the band entered "... a new phase that mixes the best of old school barbarity with quality songwriting." The term "old school" applies to this band, but without any clinging to simple nostalgia. Destroyer 666 have nothing in common with a bunch of kids trying to emulate the '80s, but rather they've lived and breathed metal since that golden age and continue to do so uncompromisingly.
