Angelo Gilardino's early career as an acclaimed guitarist later morphed into that of a prolific composer and multi award-winning musicologist. In Madrigale e ballo di Pian dei Giullari the guitars can be viewed as two voices pursuing and imitating each other, while in Riviera di Chiaia, Passeggio Reale Naples is evoked as a city of reflections and ghosts.
