PRE ORDER: Handel: Judas Maccabaeus - Akademie Fur Alte Musik Berlin (CD)

Handel enjoyed one of his greatest successes with Judas Maccabaeus, which transforms the struggle of an oppressed people into a resounding hymn to freedom. Sustained by strikingly powerful choruses, the oratorio deploys all the resourceful dramatic genius of a composer who has reached the summit of his art. Directing the RIAS Chamber Choir and the Akademie für Alte Musik Berlin, Justin Doyle restores all the fervent grandeur of this fiery heroic fresco.
