PRE ORDER: Missa Salve Diva Parens - The sound and the fury (CD)

Obrecht's Missa Salve Diva Parens stands as one of the most compelling polyphonic mass cycles of the late 15th century, exemplifying the Franco-Flemish school at it's height. Composed during a period of shifting musical influence, Obrecht was Europe's preeminent master of the mass genre until Josquin des Prez's ascendancy following his death. What distinguishes this work is it's enigmatic nature: unlike typical liturgical masses anchored to the church calendar, the Missa Salve Diva Parens presents a profound puzzle.
