PRE ORDER: Schumann In English Vol. 2 - Nick Pritchard (CD)

Schumann in English, Volume 2 presents Robert Schumann's Myrthen (Op. 25) and Vier Duette (Op. 34), performed in new English singing translations by Jeremy Sams. Soprano Harriet Burns, tenor Nick Pritchard and pianist Christopher Glynn bring fresh clarity to this 1840 wedding gift Schumann composed for Clara Schumann, drawing on poems by Goethe, Heine, Burns, Ruckert and others. The recording is woven together with six newly commissioned poems by Kate Wakeling, offering imaginative glimpses into the story behind the songs. Recorded in London in January 2025, this release continues Christopher Glynn's Lieder in English project, making these popular song cycles newly accessible to English-speaking audiences.
