Serpent Dreams - B'licious (Vinyl)

For many years she has been the voice of The Heliocentrics, the London psych jazz and funk collective whose collaborators include Madlib, Mulatu Astatke, and DJ Shadow. 'Serpent Dreams' is something else entirely: intimate, shape-shifting, and unguarded. 'Serpent Dreams' is the debut album from B'licious, a.k.a. Barbora Patkova, a Slovak-born vocalist, writer, and producer. Co-written and co-produced with Daniel Montagu-Smith of The Noisettes, and engineered by Sie Medway-Smith (Bjork, Massive Attack), it is a melancholic, dreamlike, and eclectic journey drawing on soul, R'n'B, jazz, and electronic music, out on the experimental edges of the London underground scene. Throughout, it carries her signature blend of soulful, avant-garde textures, and aching vocal arrangements.
